There are several functioning home remedies for relief, some good examples are to apply a cold compress where the hemmroids are located, or using a hot sitz bath several times in a day. For more advanced relief - maybe taking it a bit too far - is the idea of taking a sitz bath with a hot bottle of red (in the bath - sitting in it). This of course is maybe a home remedy that could be approved upon, such as maybe consuming the bottle of red instead for best hemroid relief. As hemorrhoids have been around for a very long time, there have of course developed a lot of house cures and alternative treatment options but we will restrict ourself here to the more clinically proven hemorhoid treatment options and hemmorroid relief methods available, whether on prescription or over the counter.
You can often find good suppositories available over the counter without the need for a doctors prescription. Some well known products that have helped many are Scheriproct and Xyloproct but pharmacies or drugstores will usually have many other suitable creams for hammeroids. You can also buy hemorrhoid cremes intended to stop the itching. Ointments like these are usually based on hydrocortison or midison lipid which works well against itching but should only be used for a limited time. Many over-the-counter creams are hydrocortison based and you can also buy cotton pads containing witch hazel or other numbing substances to help relieving you of the pain and itching from your hemmeroids.
Another medication that has been around for a long time is of course the Preparation H that is one of the best sellers among hemmeroid creams. Preparation H is used to minimize the swelling of the irritated hemriod tissue and it is known to work very well as treatment. It will also help you achieve a quick relief from the burning and itching usually connected to having hemorhoids. We should also mention the well known cream Tronolane which is used for relief and you can also buy this ointment as a suppository. Tronolane is based on the active ingredient pramoxine hydrochloride. The best haemmroid effect will be reached if you smear this cream a couple of times every day on the area affected. Nelsons stock a very good range of creams that work well for hemmriod relief. These ointments are based on plant tinctures from plants, especially those using aesculus hippocastanum as active ingredient for hemmroid removal.
For the longer term users of anything cortison based, it is important to realize that this can lead to other problems, some of which are dermatites or skin atrophies. Always remember to use cortison creams with great care (wash your hands thoroughly after using it so you don't accidentally get it anywhere else) and avoid using cortison based products for long term relief without prior consultation and approval from your doctor. Another produc t that can be used is Xylocain creme that works like an anestatic and it removes much pain during a bowel movement.
Haemmoroids exist as either external or internal. Haemroids that are external (prolapsed) are usually more severe in their symptoms and signs as they might become inflamed and start bleeding. Prolapsed haemmoroids can sometimes go back again after a bowel movement is completed. Treating hemmeroids (haemroids) can be done with home remedies, often herbal, or haemmroid surgery. Pictures of haemmorroids are best found via Google.
